I recently bought a Macbook Pro 13" with the M1 chip for personal use and since UltraEdit doesn't have a native ARM version yet (and I worry about performance running it through Rosetta), I thought that this would be a good opportunity to try a new text editor that is optimized for Mac use. A text editor is program that edits plain text without formatting present in many document editors. I've also use Notepad++ because it is ubiquitous. I have been using UltraEdit for almost 20 years and have a lifetime license upgrade.
